Per Diem Responsibilities Provide comprehensive nursing care to neonates in the NICU, including monitoring vital signs, administering medications, and managing ventilators and IV infusions. Conduct thorough patient assessments, including physical examinations and physiological evaluations, to determine ongoing care needs. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement individualized care plans tailored to each neonatal patient's condition. Utilize advanced EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems to document patient information accurately and efficiently, ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations. Assist with complex procedures such as suturing, catheterization, and tube feeding while maintaining aseptic techniques to prevent infection. Educate and support families through bedside teaching on neonatal care practices and discharge planning. Respond swiftly to emergency situations such as acute pain episodes or respiratory distress, providing critical interventions in high-pressure scenarios. Requirements Current RN license and good standing with the State Board of Nursing. Current AHA BLS and NRP certifications. Minimum of 1 year inpatient experience as a NICU RN (most recent experience within the last year). APRNs who apply must have recent bedside experience under RN scope of practice. Strong critical thinking skills as well as the ability to assess, plan, coordinate, evaluate and delegate the delivery of skilled patient care. Strong familiarity with managing ventilators, managing CPAP/BIPAP and incubators, assisting during fetal intubation, and midline and central line placement.
