APP, Hematology & Oncology Hospitalist 3.6 3.6 out of 5 stars Melbourne, FL Full-time Health First Careers 451 reviews Full-time Job Requirements Health First Medical Group is seeking an experienced Advanced Practice Provider (NP or PA) with Hematology/Oncology experience to join our hospitalist team. This role provides inpatient and follow-up care for oncology patients, supporting physicians so they can focus on complex cases and procedures. Key Responsibilities Manage hospitalized oncology patients and follow-up visits Conduct inpatient consults and coordinate care with the oncology team Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and care teams to ensure seamless transitions and continuity of care Participate in multidisciplinary rounds and care planning Practice Model 7-on / 7-off rotation shared with other oncology APP hospitalists Focused on inpatient care and follow-up visits only — no procedures required Supportive team environment with five oncology physicians Qualifications NP or PA with Internal Medicine or Hem/Onc Experience Comfortable managing hospitalized patients Strong communication and teamwork skills Current Florida licensure and relevant board/certifications Work Experience
QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED
Minimum of Master Degree in the Science of Nursing. Current APRN license or endorsement permit. Completion of APRN protocols within first 90 days of employment, and maintain bi-annual renewal updates. Must have at least 2 years of APP experience in a surgical specialty. Must hold current AHA BLS Healthcare Provider Completion Card prior to start date and maintain. Participation in a minimum of one professional conference and completion of a minimum of 15 continuing education units per year. Demonstrates strength in leadership, multitasking, autonomy, entrepreneurial and public relation skills. Must be able to pass colorblind testing to perform POC test requiring color change.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Visual acuity and hand-eye coordination to perform clinical tasks. Must be able to stand, walk, bend, stoop, and lift up to 20 times daily. Must be able to lift up to 40 pounds 6 times daily. Must be able to pass colorblind test in order to perform those point-of-care tests requiring color change.
MENTAL DEMANDS
Ability to work in stressful, public contact environment with patients and families of various ages, cultures and socio-economic statuses. Must be extremely flexible and able to work at variable hours and locations. Must be able to recognize own limits and consult a physician regarding patient care issues. Oversees clinical involvement of support associates and volunteers during daily clinic operations. Participates in clinical experience of students. Must be courteous and helpful, treating all people with dignity and respect. Must be able to concentrate on multiple priority activities. Must be able to respond efficiently to emergency situations.
