Job Description

  • Advanced Practice Provider — Cardiovascular ICU, Nights
  • Full-Time | 7 on / 7 off | Nights | Naples, FL
  • Join a growing Cardiovascular ICU program in Naples, Florida as a dedicated night Advanced Practice Provider.
This is a new expansion role, not a backfill, which means you are walking into a team that is building, not recovering. You will manage complex post-operative cardiac surgery patients and critically ill cardiovascular cases overnight with in-house attending coverage 24/7. Required:
  • + Advanced Practice Provider credential strongly preferred (ACNP or AGACNP) + Active ACNP-BC or
AGACNP-BC
board certification (board-eligible candidates considered with commitment to obtain certification within 6 months of hire) + Active Florida Advanced Practice Provider license + DEA registration + Current BLS and ACLS certification + CCRN or PCCN certification + TNCC certification + NIH Stroke Scale certification + Minimum 2 years of critical care or CVICU experience + Strong surgical background required + Clinical competency in: hemodynamic monitoring (Swan-Ganz, A-line), ventilator management, post-op cardiac surgery care, IABP management, LVAD/MCS management, CRRT/hemodialysis, code blue/resuscitation leadership, chest tube management, central line placement, and intubation/airway management + Master's degree in Nursing or related field from an accredited program + Ability to adapt to shift work and rotating holiday schedule
  • Preferred:
  • + ECMO experience + Epic EMR proficiency
  • Responsibilities
  • + Provide overnight advanced practice coverage for critically ill cardiovascular and post-operative cardiac surgery patients + Perform independent procedures including central line and arterial line placement, intubation, bronchoscopy, lumbar puncture, chest tube insertion, paracentesis, thoracentesis, cardioversion, and transvenous pacing + Manage hemodynamic monitoring, ventilator settings, IABP, LVAD/MCS devices, and CRRT + Lead code blue and resuscitation responses + Collaborate with in-house attending physicians and the broader critical care team to develop and execute patient care plans + Deliver direct patient care under approved protocols with physician supervision + Document patient care accurately in Epic and maintain compliance with clinical and regulatory standards + Communicate effectively with multidisciplinary teams, patients, and families + Participate in quality improvement, performance evaluation, and continuing education activities + Contribute to policy development and clinical program growth as the department expands _Background Screening Requirement (Florida): This position requires background screening through the Florida Care Provider Background Screening Clearinghouse in accordance with Florida law (Section 435.
