Job Description

Overview Join our dynamic healthcare team as an Operating Room Registered Nurse, where your expertise will directly impact patient outcomes during surgical procedures. In this vital role, you will provide specialized nursing care in the operating room environment, ensuring the highest standards of safety, aseptic technique, and patient comfort. Responsibilities Prepare operating rooms by ensuring all sterile supplies, equipment, and instruments are ready for scheduled surgeries. Assist surgeons and surgical teams with patient positioning, instrument passing, and maintaining a sterile field throughout procedures. Monitor patients' vital signs and physiological responses during surgery, responding promptly to any changes or complications. Administer medications, including anesthesia support and pain management interventions, following strict protocols. Document all aspects of patient care accurately in electronic health record (EHR) systems such as Epic or Cerner, adhering to HIPAA regulations. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to coordinate preoperative assessments, intraoperative care, and postoperative recovery plans. Maintain strict infection control standards through aseptic technique and proper sterilization procedures in accordance with hospital policies. Experience Proven experience working in an operating room setting with demonstrated proficiency in OR procedures and protocols. Strong knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology relevant to surgical care. Experience with surgical instrumentation, suturing techniques, and sterile processing is highly desirable. Familiarity with advanced medical equipment such as ventilators, IV infusion pumps, and patient monitoring devices. Prior exposure to EMR/EHR systems like Epic or Cerner for accurate medical documentation. Critical care experience or ICU background is advantageous for managing complex cases requiring acute pain management or airway management. Knowledge of infection control practices, aseptic technique, and sterilization procedures essential for maintaining a safe surgical environment.
