Circulate surgical procedures while ensuring patient safety and compliance with all policies and regulations. Perform preoperative verification and patient assessments. Coordinate care with surgeons, anesthesia providers, and surgical staff. Maintain accurate documentation. Assist in ensuring efficient room turnover and workflow. Participate in quality improvement and patient safety initiatives.

Qualifications:

Active Florida RN License BLS and ACLS required Minimum 2 years of Operating Room experience preferred Ambulatory Surgery Center or Hospital experience Strong communication and organizational skills Ability to work effectively in a team environment

Duties Prepare the operating room by ensuring all necessary equipment, supplies, and sterile instruments are ready for each procedure. Act as the central communication hub during surgeries, coordinating between surgical team members and supporting staff to facilitate smooth workflow. Monitor aseptic techniques rigorously to maintain a sterile environment and prevent infections during all phases of surgery. Assist in patient positioning and safety checks prior to incision, ensuring comfort and optimal access for the surgical team. Document all perioperative activities accurately within electronic health record (EHR) systems such as Epic or Cerner, including patient assessments, intraoperative events, and post-operative instructions. Respond swiftly to intraoperative emergencies or complications by coordinating appropriate interventions and notifying relevant medical personnel. Manage specimen collection and processing procedures with precision, ensuring proper labeling and documentation for laboratory analysis. Experience Proven experience as an Operating Room Circulating Nurse in a hospital environment with exposure to diverse surgical specialties. Demonstrated proficiency in utilizing EMR/EHR systems like Epic or Cerner for documentation and case management. Strong knowledge of aseptic techniques, infection control protocols, and sterile processing standards. Familiarity with advanced surgical equipment including ventilators, catheters, IV infusion devices.
