ASC Director of Nursing — Job Overview Performance and Retention Bonus Options Available Monday through Friday (No Weekends or Holidays) We are seeking an exceptional, forward‑thinking ASC Director of Nursing (DON) to lead our clinical team in an outpatient surgical center with confidence, clinical expertise, and a deep commitment to outstanding patient care. As the DON, you will oversee all nursing operations across the Cath Lab, Pre‑Op, PACU, and the facility. This is a rare opportunity to make a meaningful impact in a growing, innovative surgical center. ___________________________________________________________ Job Summary The Director of Nursing is responsible for the full scope of nursing care delivery and clinical operational management across the facility. This leader ensures exceptional patient outcomes, physician satisfaction, and seamless workflow across all perioperative areas. The DON oversees quality programs, education, and infection control, while also demonstrating and participating in hands‑on clinical expertise in assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating patient care from admission through discharge. ___________________________________________________________ Duties and Responsibilities Clinical Excellence & Patient Care Provides and oversees high‑quality nursing care to ensure patient safety and optimal outcomes. Ensures strict adherence to aseptic and sterile techniques. Functions as OR circulator, scrub, Pre‑Op/PACU RN, and clinic/triage RN as needed. Confirms OR readiness for each patient and procedure. Verifies pre‑operative preparation, documentation, and surgical prep completion. Completes all OR documentation, requisitions, and charting with accuracy. Supervises safe patient positioning and performs all surgical counts. Ensures proper handling and documentation of surgical specimens. Supports teammates, surgeons, and anesthesia to maintain smooth case flow. Ability to function in patient care as needed Leadership & Department Oversight Directs nursing care according to professional standards and facility policies. Coordinates patient flow to maximize efficiency and safety. Develops and implements strategies to improve communication, workflow, and adherence to policies, protocols, and physician preferences. Promotes a culture of continuous quality improvement and critical thinking. Maintains communication with the Administrator, Anesthesia, Medical Director, and Board of Managers. Ensures staff competency in standing orders and physician preference files. Continuously evaluates staff performance and identifies opportunities for improvement. Staffing & Personnel Management Ensures appropriate staffing levels based on caseload and operational needs. Assigns daily responsibilities, delegates tasks, and monitors completion. Participates in interviewing and selecting candidates. Provides coaching, performance evaluations, and recommendations for advancement or corrective action. Leads staff meetings, huddles, and committee activities. Supply Chain & Equipment Oversight Assists in managing inventory, supplies, equipment, and narcotics. Maintains equipment logs, repair records, and ensures proper functioning of all devices. Identifies supply needs and educates staff on proper handling to reduce waste. Ensures cleanliness, organization, and readiness of all clinical areas. ___________________________________________________________ Position Characteristics This role requires a high level of responsibility, accountability, and resilience. Occasional extended hours may be necessary to meet caseload demands or support staff. The DON must be comfortable making timely decisions, managing competing priorities, and leading confidently in a dynamic, sometimes high‑pressure environment. ___________________________________________________________ Qualifications Associate's degree in Nursing required; Bachelor's degree preferred Current RN licensure in Florida or Multistate Compact Minimum 3 years of Cath Lab or cardiac nursing experience
REQIURED ACLS
certification required 2 years of nursing management experience preferred 2 years of cardiology experience preferred ASC experience and AAAHC familiarity strongly preferred
Pay:
$100,000.00 - $125,000.00 per year
