Job Description:
Conducts comprehensive pre-surgical assessments including vital signs and medical history. Performs assessments and determine the total nursing needs of assigned patients. Conducts head-to-toe assessments and reassessments as per policy. Identifies problems or nursing diagnoses and plan for nursing interventions. Anticipates patient care problems and initiate corrective actions. Recognizes abnormal diagnostic data and understand their significance. Communicates pre-op findings, concerns, or changes in condition effectively and promptly. Educates patients and families about new medications, including effects and potential side effects. Formulates and update goal-directed plans of care based on patient needs. Implements interdisciplinary plans of care and coordinate patient care to meet quality measures. Administers treatments and medications safely and accurately, using appropriate technology. Maintains aseptic technique and demonstrate knowledge of infection control practices. Evaluates the quality of patient care and outcomes based on administered treatments. Accepts responsibility for professional standards, including maintaining competencies and attending mandatory meetings. Other duties as assigned.

  • Knowledgeable in assigned areas of patient care including health promotion and maintenance.
  • Knowledgeable of Perioperative Nursing Roles.
  • Knowledgeable of AORN Guidelines and Standards of Practice.
  • Demonstrates leadership & teaching abilities.
Education:
  • Associate's of Nursing [Required]
  • Bachelor's of Nursing [Preferred]
Field of Study:
    N/A Work Experience:
    • 2+ progressive surgical services experience [Required]
    • 3+ recent hospital experience in surgical services.
    [Preferred]
