OR Nurse (RN)

Category Nursing - RN-Operating Room Job Type Contract Seeking an experienced Operating Room Registered Nurse to support a high-volume surgical department with a fast-paced, collaborative environment. Work alongside skilled healthcare professionals in a facility featuring 19 OR suites and handling approximately 55-60 surgical cases daily. Expect a variety of procedures, from orthopedics and neurosurgery to robotics—excluding major pediatric and transplant cases.

Schedule/Hours:

10:45 AM to 9:15 PM Rotating days off Weekday and weekend call rotation; average every 7th weekend Weekend coverage required approximately once per quarter Flexible holiday scheduling in rotation with permanent staff

Qualifications & Experience:

Active RN license with a minimum of 2-3 years' recent operating room experience BLS and ACLS certifications required Strong proficiency with Meditech EMR Must adhere to a strict 75-mile radius requirement (per driver's license) Demonstrated competency across most surgical specialties (excluding major peds, transplants) Scrubbing experience preferred, though not required Ability to provide a thorough, accurate skills checklist

Core Responsibilities:

Circulate within various surgical specialties, maintaining safety and aseptic technique Support surgical teams during procedures and respond promptly to call (within 30 minutes) Collaborate with CSTs, Charge Nurse, and a dedicated interdisciplinary team Prioritize patient safety, timely preparation, and effective intraoperative communication Participate in a structured orientation to familiarize with local practices
