2 Description American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an Emergency Room position in Americus, GA, requiring at least 2 years of ER experience and a prior travel contract. Details Acute care hospital Emergency Room setting with 12 beds, including 2 trauma bays, 1 fast track area with 4 clinic rooms (ESI 4-5), and 1 seclusion room for psych holds Patient population ranges from neonates to geriatrics, including minor walk-in cases through trauma; trauma patients are stabilized and airlifted out, and pediatric patients are transferred out Approximately 70 patients seen per day Nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:4 Charting via
MEDITECH
(experience preferred) 12-hour day shifts, 7:00 AM - 7:00 PM Every other weekend required Holidays rotated with permanent staff No floating required Ventilators are in use on the unit RT and on-unit support available 24/7 Support staff includes 1 paramedic per shift (typically runs clinic and responds to trauma/codes), ER techs (at least 1 per shift), and nurse externs; charge nurses do not take patients IV team available for midlines and difficult sticks Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM Nurses typically perform their own lab draws Pharmacy is in-house during the day; after hours, Omnicell and remote pharmacist support available until midnight Requirements Active GA or Compact RN license required Current certifications required: BLS (AHA), ACLS (AHA), PALS (AHA), NIHSS, and TNCC Minimum 2 years of Emergency Room experience required At least 1 prior travel contract required A valid driver's license is required for consideration Candidates must reside more than 75 miles from the facility to be eligible for this position Additional Information Responsibilities include caring for a diverse patient population across the full acuity spectrum, performing lab draws, and responding to trauma and code situations alongside paramedic and tech support Facility utilizes airvac transport for trauma patients who are stabilized on-site before transfer 3-shift unit-specific orientation provided Dress code: hunter green pants, white top, and white jacket Candidates who have been employed by the facility within the last 12 months are not eligible for placement Any time-off requests must be submitted and approved at the time of initial assignment confirmation
