1 Description American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a GI/Endoscopy position performing a wide range of advanced endoscopic procedures, with a minimum of 2 years of experience and active GA or compact RN license required. Details Work in a hospital-based Endoscopy unit serving an adult to geriatric patient population Unit operates 5 procedure rooms and 16 beds, with an average daily volume of 25-30 cases per day Procedures include EGDs, colonoscopy, esophageal dilation, esophageal and colonic stents, liver biopsy, portal pressure measurement, ERCP, Spyglass, EUS, POEM, bronchoscopy, navigational bronchoscopy, and EBUS Pre/post procedure and procedure room experience required Epic EMR (preferred) and Pyxis medication dispensing system used on unit Day shift schedule: 4x10-hour shifts, 6:30 AM - 5:00 PM Every other weekend required On-call required: 1 weeknight per week and 2 weekends per contract Floating within the facility and scope of practice required as needed 14-week contract Requirements Active GA or compact RN license required at time of consideration Current BLS and ACLS certifications required Minimum 2 years of GI/Endoscopy RN experience required Pre/post procedure and procedure room nursing experience required Epic EMR experience preferred Additional Information First-time travelers are welcome to apply Local candidates are accepted RTO is capped at 7 days for the duration of the contract; RTO cannot be requested during the first week of the assignment Holiday coverage policy: if 1 or 2 major holidays fall within the assignment period, the traveler is expected to work all of them with no holiday RTO permitted; if 3 major holidays fall within the assignment period, the traveler is expected to work 2 of them and may request 1 holiday off for approval Major holidays include: Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving/Black Friday (counted as 1), Christmas Eve/Christmas Day (counted as 1), and New Year's Eve/New Year's Day (counted as 1) No schedule change requests or alternate shift requests are accepted; the posted shift is firm Navy blue scrubs required Travelers must have been away from all facilities within this health system for a minimum of 1 full year before returning as a traveler Two supervisory references (manager level or above; charge nurses not accepted) are highly preferred for consideration
