Monday-Sunday (Rotating Schedule) Requirements Minimum 2 years of recent Medical-Surgical nursing experience Current AHA BLS Certification required ACLS Certification required NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) Certification required No local candidates within 50 miles of the facility Unit Overview The Acute Neuro Unit provides care for patients requiring medical-surgical and neurological services, including but not limited to: Neurosurgery Neurology Ear, Nose, and Throat (ENT) surgery General surgery Job Summary The Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible for providing comprehensive nursing care to patients recovering from acute illnesses, neurological conditions, and surgical procedures. The RN will assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care while collaborating with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes. Patient Population The unit cares for a diverse patient population, including: Post-surgical patients recovering from neurosurgical, ENT, and general surgical procedures Patients with acute neurological conditions Ambulatory patients who can perform some aspects of self-care Patients requiring ongoing neurological and medical assessments Bedridden patients requiring total nursing care and assistance with activities of daily living Key Responsibilities Perform comprehensive patient assessments and ongoing monitoring Develop and implement individualized nursing care plans Administer medications and treatments according to physician orders Monitor neurological status and recognize changes in patient condition Provide post-operative and medical-surgical nursing care Educate patients and families regarding treatment plans and recovery Collaborate with physicians, therapists, and multidisciplinary team members Maintain accurate and timely documentation in accordance with facility standards Additional Information 13-week travel assignment Night shift schedule: 7:00 PM-7:30 AM 36 hours per week Acute Neuro/Medical-Surgical unit Local candidates residing within 50 miles of the facility are not eligible for this assignment. #TB_RN Why TalentBurst?
