Position-Registered Nurse
  • Critical Care Float Pool (ICU Float RN) Location-Cartersville, GA Job duration
  • 10 weeks with possible extension (BI02) Shift
  • Nights (3×12 Hours)

AM Weekend Requirement:
Every Other Weekend Job Summary Seeking an experienced Critical Care Float RN with a minimum of 2 years of ICU experience to join the hospital float pool. The nurse will primarily work in the ER Hold area but must be willing to float throughout the hospital, including Emergency Department, ER Hold, Medical-Surgical, Telemetry, and Stepdown/PCU units based on staffing needs. Candidates must be flexible, adaptable, and comfortable caring for a variety of high-acuity patients. Key Responsibilities Provide comprehensive nursing care to critically ill patients. Perform patient assessments, care planning, implementation, and evaluation. Manage critically ill patients requiring ICU-level care. Monitor cardiac rhythms and respond to dysrhythmias. Administer and titrate cardiac and vasoactive drips. Manage arterial lines and central lines. Start and maintain peripheral IVs. Care for mechanically ventilated patients. Manage BiPAP and CPAP therapy. Perform endotracheal and nasotracheal suctioning. Follow isolation precautions and PPE protocols. Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary teams. Float to assigned units as needed within scope of practice. Float Pool Expectations The RN must be prepared to float to: Emergency Department (ED) ER Hold Medical-Surgical Telemetry Stepdown/PCU Primary assignment will be ER Hold. When floated to Medical-Surgical, patient ratios may be up to 1:7. Required Qualifications Minimum 2 years of ICU experience First-time travelers accepted Experience in critical care and hospital float settings preferred Ability to work independently in multiple clinical environments Required Certifications Current Registered Nurse License BLS (Basic Life Support) ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)
