Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Registered Nurse (RN) specialized in Med/Surg to join our dynamic healthcare team. In this critical role, you will provide comprehensive nursing care to critically ill patients across various age groups, including pediatric, adult, and geriatric populations. The ideal candidate will possess extensive ICU experience and demonstrate proficiency in advanced patient assessment, ventilator management, medication administration, and emergency response protocols. Your expertise will contribute significantly to patient recovery and safety within a fast-paced hospital environment committed to excellence in critical care. Responsibilities Deliver expert nursing care to critically ill patients in the ICU, utilizing advanced assessment skills and evidence-based practices. Monitor vital signs, interpret laboratory results, and perform diagnostic evaluations to inform treatment plans. Manage complex medical equipment such as ventilators, infusion pumps, and cardiac monitors with precision. Administer medications, including IV infusions and injections, adhering strictly to aseptic techniques and safety protocols. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement individualized care plans aligned with patient needs. Perform procedures such as suturing, catheterization, and tube feeding while maintaining sterile technique. Document all patient interactions accurately within electronic health record (EHR) systems like Epic or Cerner. Respond swiftly to emergency situations, including airway management and acute pain interventions. Participate in discharge planning, family education, and coordination of post-acute care services. Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations and maintain confidentiality of patient information. Qualifications Valid RN license with current registration in the applicable state or jurisdiction. Minimum of two years of ICU experience in a Level I or Level II trauma center or equivalent critical care setting. Proficiency with EMR/EHR systems such as Epic, Cerner, Athenahealth, or eClinicalWorks. Demonstrated expertise in ventilator management, invasive procedures (e.g., central line placement), and infection control practices. Knowledge of advanced physiology, pharmacology, ICD coding (ICD-10/ICD-9), and trauma medicine protocols. Experience working with diverse patient populations including pediatrics (PICU), geriatrics (memory care), behavioral health patients, and those with developmental disabilities. Strong critical thinking skills combined with excellent communication and teamwork abilities. Additional certifications such as Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC), or Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) are preferred.
