PRN Registered Nurse (RN) / Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN)•Outpatient Behavioral Health Odyssey Family Counseling Center•3.0 College Park, GA Job Details Part-time From $35 an hour 23 hours ago Qualifications Collaborate with healthcare professionals Psychiatry RN License Sample preparation Patient assessment Collecting samples for laboratory testing Clinical documentation Organizational skills Patient interaction Psychopharmacology Full Job Description Odyssey Family Counseling Center is seeking a compassionate and detail-oriented PRN Registered Nurse (RN) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to support our behavioral health and substance use treatment programs. This position plays an important role in providing nursing assessments, health screenings, laboratory coordination, medication support, and client education within a multidisciplinary treatment environment. The PRN Nurse is a member of the Interdisciplinary Treatment Team and works closely with the Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP), clinical staff, and community providers to ensure clients receive quality, coordinated care. Candidates should be comfortable working with individuals receiving mental health and substance use treatment services and committed to maintaining professional, ethical, and regulatory standards. Position Type PRN / As-Needed Workdays and hours will vary based on agency needs.

9:00 AM•5:00 PM Every other

9:00 AM•5:00
PM Wednesday:
9:00 AM•6:00 PM Schedules are coordinated based on staffing and client care needs. PRN employees are not guaranteed a set number of hours. Compensation Pay is commensurate with experience, credentials, and licensure level.
Reporting Structure Reports to:
Clinical Director Works under the clinical direction of the Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) Supervisory responsibilities: None Key Responsibilities Conduct nursing and substance use assessments for clients receiving behavioral health services. Perform routine health screenings, including TB testing, HIV/Hepatitis C testing, communicable disease screenings, and vital sign monitoring. Collect and prepare specimens for laboratory testing, including blood draws and urine drug screens. Educate clients on HIV, Hepatitis C, medication management, wellness, and preventative health practices. Communicate identified medical concerns to clinical staff and treatment providers to support continuity of care. Coordinate referrals to external medical providers and community health resources as needed. Assist clients with accessing low-cost medication programs and prescription support services. Support psychiatric services through appointment coordination, reminder calls, prescription pre-authorizations, and pharmacy communication. Coordinate laboratory services, reporting, and follow-up with appropriate providers. Ensure timely, accurate, and compliant clinical documentation within 24 hours of service delivery. Maintain medical supplies, drug screening inventory, and first aid resources. Follow CDC guidelines, infection control protocols, and universal precautions at all times. Maintain compliance with all Odyssey Family Counseling Center policies, payer requirements, and applicable federal, state, and local regulations. Uphold the mission, values, and standards of care of Odyssey Family Counseling Center Qualifications Active Georgia licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN). Experience working with behavioral health, substance use, or mental health populations Ability to recognize and assess medical concerns commonly associated with mental health and substance use disorders. Experience performing blood draws, urine drug screens, TB testing, and specimen preparation. Knowledge of commonly prescribed psychiatric medications, including indications, contraindications, and side effects. Strong interpersonal and patient engagement skills. Familiarity with community healthcare resources and referral coordination. Ability to maintain accurate electronic documentation; experience with CareLogic EHR preferred. Strong organizational skills and ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team environment.
