  • Contract Overview Join our compassionate team as a Pediatric Home Care Nurse RN, working 20 hours per week on weekends—Saturday and Sunday—to provide exceptional, patient-centered care to children with diverse medical needs.
This vital role offers the opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of young patients and their families by delivering skilled nursing services in the comfort of their homes. Responsibilities Deliver comprehensive nursing care to pediatric patients in their home environment, including medication administration, IV infusions, and wound care such as suturing and ostomy management. Perform detailed patient assessments, vital signs monitoring, and physical examinations to evaluate health status and identify any changes requiring intervention. Manage complex medical procedures including ventilator support, tube feeding, catheterization, and aseptic techniques to ensure patient safety and comfort. Coordinate with families and caregivers through health coaching, discharge planning, and education on medication administration, infection control, and developmental needs. Document all patient interactions accurately using electronic health record (EHR) systems like Epic or Cerner while adhering to HIPAA regulations for confidentiality. Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams on case management plans involving specialty areas such as cardiology, neurology, infectious disease care, or behavioral health when necessary. Respond promptly to urgent situations through triage protocols and critical care procedures to stabilize patients in emergency scenarios. Experience Prior experience working with children in home care settings or pediatric medical-surgical units is highly preferred. Demonstrated proficiency with EMR/EHR systems such as Epic or Cerner for accurate documentation. Knowledge of pediatric-specific conditions including developmental disabilities, memory care needs, and acute pain management. Experience with advanced nursing procedures like PICU (Pediatric Intensive Care Unit) care, neonatal ventilator management, or trauma medicine is advantageous. Familiarity with long-term care environments such as assisted living facilities or nursing homes that serve pediatric populations. Strong understanding of medical terminology related to pediatrics, anatomy, physiology, and diagnostic evaluation techniques including laboratory experience or specimen processing. Certification in basic life support (BLS), IV insertion techniques, and sterile processing practices required; additional certifications like CPT coding or ostomy care are a plus.
