Job Description

The Georgia Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Disabilities (DBHDD) is currently seeking qualified candidates for the position of Registered Nurse in the Admissions Unit , at Georgia Regional Hospital

  • $72,000
  • $94,000 based on experience Shifts Available 7:00 AM

AM Job Description:
  • Assess client health problems and needs, address current and immediate.
  • Complete vital signs and document.
  • Review and determine the immediate needs i.e. current medications and treatments.
  • Evaluate and notify doctor/Psychiatrist for evaluation and implementation of obtain of orders.
  • Administer medications as needed.
  • Administer nursing care to patients as needed or required.
  • May advise clients on health maintenance and disease prevention and refer to Social Service within the Admission are as needed.
Job Responsibilities & Performance Standards:
1. Administers prescribed medications and notes times and amounts on clients' charts 2. Maintains accurate, detailed reports and client records 3. Monitors all aspects of client care, including diet. 4. Monitors, records and reports symptoms and changes in clients' conditions 5. Prepares clients for, and assists with, examinations and treatments 6. Prepares rooms, sterile instruments, equipment and supplies, and ensures that stock of supplies is maintained 7. Provides education to client 8. Provides health care, first aid.
Technical Competencies:
1. Ability to assess, plan for, and provide basic nursing skills; knows procedures including developing, implementing and revising plan of care 2. Knowledge of nursing policies, procedures, protocols, treatments, standards of care and nurse practice act 3. Knowledge of the procedures for medication administration and can administer oral, sublingual and IM medications; knowledge of pharmacology 4. Ability to perform CPR and for some sites, AED. Associate degree in nursing from an accredited college or university and current Georgia license as a Registered Professional Nurse or Multistate license.
