Job Description

Category Nursing - RN-Stepdown Job Type Contract Take your nursing expertise to the next level with an opportunity in a dynamic Stepdown/Progressive Care Unit environment. This contract role is tailored for Registered Nurses who excel in delivering intermediate-level care to patients requiring continuous monitoring and specialized interventions. Your ability to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate care makes you a vital resource in ensuring quality outcomes for patients transitioning from intensive to general care.
Qualifications:
Active RN license in good standing Previous experience in Stepdown or Progressive Care Unit (PCU) settings Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking abilities BLS and ACLS certifications (required) Exceptional communication and collaboration skills Familiarity with electronic health records and documentation protocols
Primary Responsibilities:
Provide high-quality nursing care for patients requiring close observation and advanced therapies in a Stepdown/PCU setting Conduct frequent patient assessments, recognizing and responding promptly to changes in condition Collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams to coordinate individualized patient care plans Administer medications and manage intravenous lines according to approved protocols Monitor cardiac rhythms, vital signs, and laboratory values, ensuring documentation is accurate and up-to-date Educate patients and families on treatment plans and progress, promoting understanding and engagement in care Uphold safety and infection control standards at all times
