Job Description

Category Nursing - RN-ER Job Type Contract Step into a dynamic, high-acuity emergency department as a Registered Nurse bringing your expertise to a Level 1 Trauma, teaching hospital with 637 licensed beds and a robust support system. This contract opportunity is ideal for adaptable nurses who thrive in busy environments and are passionate about delivering exceptional care to patients with diverse and complex needs.
Schedule/Hours:
Day shift: Three 12-hour shifts per week
Qualifications:
Active RN license Minimum 2 years recent emergency department RN experience; Level I Trauma experience preferred (Level II considered with manager approval) First-time travelers welcome Required certifications:
BLS, ACLS, PALS, TNCC, NIHSS BCR
(Basic Cardiac Rhythm); must pass EKG competency exam 6+ months previous EPIC experience
Preferred:
National Emergency Nursing Certification Skilled in advanced drips (Heparin, Insulin, Cardene, Dopamine, Epinephrine, Fentanyl, Propofol, Levophed)
Key Responsibilities:
Deliver care to ED patients presenting with chest pain, strokes, diabetes, abdominal pain, trauma, mental health and more; average patient ratio is 1:4 Collaborate within an interdisciplinary team including CNAs, unit secretaries, phlebotomy, PICC team, respiratory therapists, hospitalists, and intensivists Utilize advanced equipment and technology including Alaris IV pumps, Pyxis medication dispensing, Phillips monitors, PCA, rapid infusers, and more Participate in centralized telemetry monitoring and respond to urgent patient needs swiftly Float as needed within the ER (additional site floating possible but not guaranteed) Attend a comprehensive orientation to ensure a smooth transition
