1 Description American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Hospice/Palliative Care position in a home health setting, requiring at least 2 years of hospice experience and HCHB or Epic EMR proficiency. Details Home health and hospice setting serving an adult to geriatric patient population Average daily census of 100 with approximately 6 patient visits per day and a 1:10 ratio 7-on/7-off schedule; shifts run 16:30-08:00 (Mon-Thurs and Fri-Mon) Weekend work is required per the 7-on/7-off schedule On-call responsibilities are included per the shift schedule Floating within facility and scope of practice as needed EMR systems used: Homecare Homebase (HCHB) and iPrescribe; transitioning to Epic after 10/1/2026 HCHB experience is required; Epic experience will be needed following the system transition 12-week contract Requirements Active GA or compact RN license required Current BLS certification required Minimum 2 years of hospice RN experience required Strong communication skills with patients, clinical staff, Medical Directors, and office staff Must be able to work independently and maintain strong organizational skills Two supervisory references (Manager level or above; charge nurse references not accepted) are highly preferred Additional Information First-time travelers are not accepted for this position Candidates without HCHB experience must complete an online HCHB training course prior to starting, at their own expense Local candidates are accepted at the same rate RTO is capped at 7 days for the duration of the assignment; RTO cannot be requested during the first week If one or two major holidays fall within the assignment period, the traveler is expected to work all of them with no holiday RTO permitted; if three major holidays fall within the assignment period, the traveler is expected to work two, with one holiday RTO request eligible for review Major holidays include: Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving/Black Friday, Christmas Eve/Christmas Day, and New Year's Eve/New Year's Day Travelers who have previously worked at any facility within this health system must have been away for at least one full year before returning as a traveler No scheduling changes or alternate shift requests are permitted; the posted shift is firm Full compliance must be completed on time; delays result in a two-week pushback due to a bi-weekly orientation schedule Scrubs of any color are acceptable
