This role involves providing comprehensive mental health nursing services across various inpatient and outpatient settings, including psychiatric units, crisis stabilization, and community-based programs. The ideal candidate will possess strong clinical skills, experience working with diverse populations—including individuals with developmental disabilities and memory care needs—and the ability to adapt quickly to different healthcare environments. This position offers an exciting opportunity to deliver high-quality patient care while supporting recovery and wellness initiatives. Duties Conduct thorough patient assessments, including vital signs, mental status evaluations, and physical examinations. Administer medications, including psychotropic agents and injectable treatments such as botulinum toxin when applicable. Manage acute psychiatric episodes, ensuring safety through de-escalation techniques and proper restraint protocols. Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement individualized treatment plans aligned with patient needs. Document all patient interactions accurately using electronic health record (EHR) systems such as Cerner or Epic. Provide patient education on medication management, coping strategies, and discharge instructions. Assist in triage processes for emergency psychiatric cases and coordinate referrals for specialized services. Maintain compliance with HIPAA regulations and infection control standards throughout all patient interactions. Support long-term care initiatives in assisted living or memory care units by delivering tailored nursing interventions. Participate in quality improvement activities, including adherence to NCQA standards and ICD coding accuracy. Requirements Valid RN license in the state of practice with current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification. Proven experience working in psychiatric settings, including inpatient mental health units or crisis stabilization centers. Critical care experience preferred, especially within Level I or Level II trauma centers or emergency departments. Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems such as Cerner or Epic; experience with medical documentation standards. Knowledge of psychiatric medications, including psychotropic agents and injection administration techniques. Strong understanding of mental health conditions like depression, anxiety disorders, dementia, and substance use disorders. Ability to work effectively with diverse populations, including individuals with developmental disabilities or memory impairments. Excellent communication skills for patient education, team collaboration, and family interactions. Experience in trauma medicine, acute pain management, behavioral health interventions, and hospice/palliative care is advantageous. Flexibility to adapt to various shifts and healthcare environments while maintaining a high standard of patient care. This position is integral to delivering compassionate mental health services across multiple settings. We welcome qualified candidates committed to making a positive impact on patients' lives through expert nursing care. #
