Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Registered Nurse to join our dynamic healthcare team. In this vital role, you will provide expert patient care across diverse medical settings, ensuring safety, comfort, and optimal health outcomes. Your expertise will support a wide range of clinical procedures, assessments, and treatments while fostering a positive environment for patients and their families. Duties Conduct comprehensive patient assessments, including vital signs, physical examinations, and medical history reviews using EMR (Electronic Medical Record) systems such as Epic or Cerner. Administer medications via injections, IV infusions, and other routes following aseptic technique standards while ensuring accurate documentation in medical records. Perform specialized procedures including suturing, catheterization, tube feeding management, ostomy care, and wound dressing changes. Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement individualized care plans for patients across acute care, long-term care, hospice & palliative medicine, and behavioral health settings. Manage emergency situations by providing airway management, ventilator support, acute pain management, triage assessments, and critical care interventions within Level I or Level II trauma centers or ICU environments. Educate patients and families on health coaching topics such as medication administration, nutrition, disease management (including infectious disease care), and post-discharge instructions. Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations and maintain meticulous medical documentation to support quality assurance and billing processes like
ICD-10/ICD-9
coding and CPT coding. Requirements Valid RN license in the relevant state or jurisdiction with current CPR/BLS certification. Proven experience working in hospital medicine, emergency medicine, ICU/CCU (Critical Care Unit), or trauma medicine environments; Level I or Level II trauma center experience preferred. Strong knowledge of medical terminology, physiology, anatomy, and diagnostic evaluation techniques including laboratory experience and specimen collection/processing. Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems such as Epic, Cerner, Athenahealth or eClinicalWorks for accurate patient care documentation. Experience with specialized procedures like phlebotomy, venipuncture, dialysis support, gastrostomy tube management, sonography or mammography is advantageous. Ability to work effectively with diverse patient populations including pediatrics (neonatal ventilator care), geriatrics (memory care & dementia care), individuals with disabilities or developmental disabilities. Excellent critical thinking skills with the capacity to handle acute pain management scenarios and complex case management tasks. Demonstrated competence in infection control practices and aseptic techniques while maintaining compliance with NCQA standards.
