Work Schedule:
3 x 12 hour shifts, 7:00 AM -7:00 PM, rotating weekends Sign on bonus: $20,000 • Up To 20% differential of total base pay based on level advancement, aligned to education and certification progression to support career growth. Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Registered Nurse (RN) to join our Cardiovascular Progressive Care Unit (PCU) team. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work in a dynamic environment on day shifts with rotating weekends. The successful candidate will provide expert nursing care to patients with cardiovascular conditions, ensuring safety, comfort, and optimal recovery. A sign-on bonus of up to $20,000 is available for qualified applicants who meet the criteria. Responsibilities Deliver comprehensive nursing care to patients with complex cardiovascular diagnoses, including post-catheterization and post-surgical recovery. Monitor patient vital signs, interpret diagnostic results, and perform assessments to evaluate patient status accurately. Administer medications and treatments following established protocols while ensuring patient safety and comfort. Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement individualized care plans tailored to each patient's needs. Educate patients and their families about their conditions, treatments, and post-discharge care instructions. Utilize electronic health record (EHR) systems such as Cerner or Epic for accurate documentation of patient information. Maintain aseptic techniques during procedures such as IV insertions, suturing, and catheter care. Respond promptly to emergencies, including acute pain management and airway management situations. Qualifications Current RN licensure in the state of practice with valid certification in Basic Life Support (BLS). Critical care experience within a hospital setting, preferably in a Level I or Level II trauma center or ICU environment. Knowledge of cardiovascular procedures including cardiac catheterization and post-operative monitoring. Experience working with advanced EMR/EHR systems such as Cerner or Epic is highly desirable. Familiarity with diagnostic evaluation techniques including laboratory testing, ICD coding (ICD-10/ICD-9), and medical imaging modalities like CT scans. Strong assessment skills in physiology, anatomy, and patient assessment protocols related to acute care settings. Ability to work effectively in fast-paced environments involving emergency medicine, trauma medicine, or hospital medicine units. Excellent communication skills for triage, patient education, and interdisciplinary collaboration.
