PCU/Stepdown Nurse (RN)

Qualifications:

Valid and unrestricted Registered Nurse license Minimum of 1 year experience in a Stepdown or Progressive Care Unit (PCU) setting Proficiency with advanced cardiac monitoring, managing critical drips, and recognizing acute changes in patient status Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate with interdisciplinary teams Current BLS and ACLS certifications

Schedule:

Required shifts may include days, nights, weekends, or holidays depending on facility needs

Responsibilities:

Provide direct nursing care to patients in the PCU/Stepdown environment Monitor and document patient responses to interventions, medications, and therapies Recognize and act quickly on signs of patient deterioration Clearly communicate with physicians, patients, and families, offering education and support as needed Accurately chart all interventions in electronic medical records Participate in interdisciplinary rounds and support best practice initiatives for improved patient outcomes Maintain compliance with hospital policies, procedures, and regulatory standards
