Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a compassionate and detail-oriented Registered Nurse (RN) to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will provide high-quality patient care across various settings, including long-term care, assisted living, hospitals, and outpatient clinics. This role requires a strong foundation in medical procedures, excellent patient assessment skills, and the ability to work effectively with diverse populations, including pediatrics, individuals with developmental disabilities. The RN will utilize EMR/EHR systems to document patient information accurately and ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations. Duties Perform comprehensive patient assessments, including vital signs, physical examinations, and health histories using medical terminology and physiology knowledge. Administer medications and injections safely, including IV infusions and catheterizations, following aseptic techniques. Manage airway care, ventilator support, and tube feeding for patients in acute or long-term care settings. Conduct diagnostic evaluations such as blood draws (venipuncture), specimen collection/processing, and laboratory testing. Assist with complex procedures like cardiac catheterization, spinal taps, suturing, and dermal fillers where applicable. Provide wound care, catheter care, and sterile processing to prevent infections and promote healing. Document all patient interactions thoroughly within EMR/EHR systems such as Cerner or Athenahealth while maintaining HIPAA compliance. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams in settings like ICU, PICU, trauma centers (Level I & II), emergency rooms, or post-acute care environments. Educate patients and families on health coaching, discharge planning, medication management, nutrition, and disease prevention strategies. Ensure infection control protocols are followed diligently across all patient care activities. Experience Candidates should possess relevant experience in various healthcare environments such as: Critical care units (ICU/PICU), emergency medicine (ER/urgent care), or hospital medicine. Long-term care facilities including nursing homes and assisted living communities. Specialized areas like hospice care, infectious disease management, geriatrics/dementia/Alzheimer's/dementia care or behavioral health settings. Experience with EMR/EHR systems such as Epic or Meditech is highly desirable. Proficiency in medical documentation including ICD coding (ICD-9/10), CPT coding for procedures like suturing or dermal fillers is preferred. Knowledge of advanced procedures such as IV insertion/infusion therapy, dialysis support, spinal taps, or ventilator management is advantageous.
