The Case Management department provides outcome-oriented patient care with an appropriate length of stay, use of appropriate resources based on specific case types, and coordination of an integrated system of settings, services, health care practitioners, and care levels that make up a continuum of care. The Registered Professional Nurse V (case Management Lead) primary purpose is to provide assistance to the director with tasks including, but not limited to: scheduling of staff, budget monitoring, PAS reports, and quality improvements within the department. This position will continue with regular case manager duties such as, outcome-oriented patient care with an appropriate length of stay, use appropriate resources based on specific case types, promote the integration and coordination of clinical services, monitor the use of patient care resources, support collaborative practice and continuity of care, and enhance patient and provider satisfaction. This position may be required to work shifts, weekends, and holidays. THE MINIMUM QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS ARE

Graduated from an accredited school of nursing. While not required, graduation from an accredited nursing program with a Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university is highly desirable. ants must have graduated from an accredited school of nursing. EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENT
Applicants must have shown progressively responsible work experience of the kind and quality described below: EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
Two and one-half (2 ½) years of professional nursing work experience of which one year must have been comparable to a Registered Professional Nurse IV as a supervisor of nurses responsible for all patient care, management activities within an assigned ward, floor or clinical area. Two (2) years of hospital experience in which administrative, supervisory, teaching and nursing ability has been demonstrated is highly desirable. Supervisory Experience:
One-half (1/2) year of professional nursing experience which included: (1) planning and directing the work of others; (2) assigning and reviewing their work; (3) advising them on difficult problem areas; (4) timing and scheduling their work; and (5) training and developing employees. Possession of a master's degree from an accredited college or university school of nursing may be substituted for one year of nursing experience. LICENSE REQUIRED
License to practice as a professional nurse in the State of Hawaii. For certain positions, possession of a motor vehicle operator's license is required. CERTIFICATION
Certified professional in Utilization Review or Case Management preferred. KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES REQUIRED
Knowledge of nursing theory and practice; nursing techniques and procedures; nursing literature and current trends and development in nursing. The ability to apply nursing theory and practice in planning and giving nursing care, recognize, interpret and evaluate symptoms of patient's condition, and take appropriate action. Positions at this level should be able to initiate and maintain working relationships with members of the medical staff, administration, nursing and other departments and agencies affiliated with the hospital; have knowledge of JCAHO requirements, and those of other federal, state, or private regulatory/review organizations with which the hospital interacts. Good working knowledge of the principles and practices of supervision and demonstrated administrative aptitude. Ability to communicate well with individuals at all levels; work as a team member; apply management, leadership, decision-making, interpersonal and communication skills.
