This role supports safe, compliant, and person‑centered medical care by collaborating with individuals served, guardians, medical providers, and Discovery Living staff. Core Duties Conduct health‑related assessments and monitor medical needs of individuals served Coordinate and attend medical appointments as needed Serve as a liaison between healthcare providers, individuals served, guardians, and Discovery Living staff Review, interpret, and communicate physician orders and medical information Provide nursing consultation and training to staff related to health supports and medication practices Support medication administration standards and compliance with applicable regulations Participate in interdisciplinary team (IDT) planning and consultation as requested Assist with review of incidents, trends, and health‑related concerns Respond to urgent or complex medical situations, including those occurring outside routine hours when required Maintain accurate, timely, and confidential medical documentation Perform other related duties as assigned Qualifications, Skills, and Abilities Current Registered Nurse licensure in the State of Iowa Knowledge of healthcare practices and regulations applicable to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities Strong clinical judgment and assessment skills Ability to communicate medical information clearly to non‑clinical staff Ability to collaborate effectively with interdisciplinary teams and external providers Strong organizational skills and attention to detail Ability to manage confidential and sensitive medical information Ability to remain calm and effective in urgent or high‑stress situations Valid driver's license and ability to meet organizational insurability standards Physical Requirements Prolonged periods of sitting and working on a computer Periods of standing, walking, and site visits as required Ability to lift up to 50 pounds, with or without reasonable accommodation Ability to access all assigned work locations
Pay:
$30.00 - $38.00 per hour
