Physicians Clinic of Iowas is searching for a patient focused RN to work full-time to join our Hematology and Oncology infusion team. The RN will provide high-quality patient care in a hematology/oncology setting, ensuring safe administration of medications, effective patient education, and accurate clinical documentation. This role also supports cross-functional nursing duties within the clinic.

Primary duties for this position include, but are not limited to: Performing initial and ongoing patient assessments prior to and during each infusion to ensure patients are free of infection, adverse reactions, or other complicationsMonitor and record patient vital signs, including temperature, blood pressure, and pulse rate.

Collect and document accurate subjective and objective assessments in the electronic medical record, including medication lists, treatments, patient care instructions, and communications with outside entities (e.g., insurance, disability).Communicate medical information appropriately with patients, families, coworkers, and outside institutions.

Verify chemotherapy orders and lab results for accuracy.

Administer and monitor chemotherapy and other medications for hematology/oncology patients.

Maintain knowledge of chemotherapy drugs, including side effects, infusion rates, potential reactions, and recognition of adverse responses.

Educating patients on IV therapy and the infusion processSupport cross-training needs by assisting triage nurses, clinic nurses, and rooming staff as needed.
Qualifications:
Current RN license is required.

Experience providing infusion treatment, preferred.

BLS required or must obtain within the first 60 days of employment.

Proficiency (or ability to become proficient) in EMR and related computer systems.

Strong Commitment to patient care and teamwork.

Excellent communication skills, professionalism, reliability, and maintaining confidentiality.

Thorough understanding of safety regulations and best practices.
