About Us Iowa Digestive Disease Center and Iowa Endoscopy Center are proud to serve the community and surrounding area with regard to digestive health needs. Our endoscopy center is one of only three centers in Iowa recognized by the American Society for Gastrointestinal Endoscopy. The American Society for Gastrointestinal Endoscopy is known as the leader in setting standards for excellence in gastrointestinal endoscopy and has designed the only national program recognizing quality and safety in the practice of gastrointestinal endoscopy. Our center has also been accredited by the AAAHC, having met their rigorous quality and safety standards. AAAHC accreditation and certification is recognized nationwide as a symbol of quality that reflects an organization's commitment to meeting certain performance standards.
Our board-certified physicians specialize in:
Gastroenterology, Hepatology, Diagnostic Endoscopy, Therapeutic Endoscopy, Infusion, and Advanced Therapeutics. Education Current state licensure as Registered Nurse (RN) required BLS certification is required Previous experience in endoscopy, procedural nursing, or gastroenterology preferred Job Summary We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse (RN) to join our endoscopy healthcare team and play a vital role in supporting gastrointestinal procedures. In this role, you will provide comprehensive nursing care to patients undergoing diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopic procedures such as colonoscopies and upper endoscopies. Responsibilities include preparing patients for procedures, assisting physicians during endoscopic interventions, monitoring patient responses, and ensuring safe recovery post-procedure. The ideal candidate has strong clinical judgment, excellent communication skills, and experience in procedural or perioperative settings. You will be instrumental in ensuring patient comfort, safety, and education throughout the endoscopy experience, while maintaining strict adherence to infection control and quality care standards. Responsibilities Assess patients, review medical history, start IVs, and prep for endoscopic procedures. Educate patients on procedure expectations, prep instructions, and aftercare. Support physicians during colonoscopies, EGDs, and other GI procedures. Monitor sedation levels, vital signs, and patient safety throughout the procedure. Monitor patients in recovery, assess for complications, and provide discharge education. Ensure patients are stable before release and understand follow-up care instructions. Prepare and maintain endoscopy equipment and procedure rooms. Follow strict infection control and scope reprocessing protocols. Accurately chart patient information and procedure details. Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary team members for coordinated care. Requirements Strong communication skills

  • Friday 7:30am-4pm or 8am-4:30pm shifts
