Job Description

At Long Term Medical Supply, we treat our customers like family. Long Term Medical Supply has proudly served the Iowa area for years by providing high-quality medical equipment, supplies, and exceptional customer service with compassion and care. The Licensed Clinician (RT/RN) / Customer Service Representative (LCCSR) is responsible for performing all tasks related to patient/client communication and service, with an emphasis on respiratory care functions and verification of third-party reimbursement. The ideal candidate will hold an active Respiratory Therapist (RT) license or other applicable clinical licensure, such as Registered Nurse (RN).
Responsibilities & Duties:
Maintains positive, open communication with patients/clients and referral sources. Answers incoming phone calls and processes customer orders. Responds to patient/client questions and concerns in a timely and professional manner. Assists walk-in customers in a friendly, patient-centered manner. Ensures the quality and safe delivery of services to patients according to the prescribed care plan. Uses equipment and supplies safely, effectively, and efficiently. Sets up and instructs patients/caregivers/family members on the safe use and function of home medical equipment in accordance with physician orders and patient evaluations, including but not limited to programming PAP devices and fitting PAP masks. Provides education and support to patients/caregivers/family members regarding equipment use and safety. Completes all required documentation accurately and thoroughly, including insurance verification and review of paperwork for completeness. Reads and interprets sleep studies. Performs oximetry and conserver testing. Maintains cleanliness and service standards for stores, vehicles, and equipment while following OSHA, DOT, FDA, HIPAA, Medicare, and Medicaid guidelines as applicable. Assists the Location Manager with equipment maintenance, servicing, and tracking logs. Represents the company in a positive and professional manner. Educates referral sources regarding products and services. Participates in scheduled on-call rotation and completes deliveries as directed. Upholds and implements Long Term Medical Supply's mission and values. Performs additional duties as assigned.
Education:
Graduate of an accredited high school required. Must hold an active license in Respiratory Therapy (RT) or another applicable clinical license, such as Registered Nurse (RN).
Experience:
Previous DME (Durable Medical Equipment) experience preferred, but not required.
Knowledge & Skills:
Previous data entry experience preferred Typing and 10-key proficiency Excellent customer service and phone communication skills Strong attention to detail Valid driver's license with a good driving record required
