Nursing Contract Position Overview UnityPoint Health•Marshalltown is seeking an experienced Emergency Room (ER) Registered Nurse (RN) for a 13-week night shift contract. This role requires a swift, decisive professional capable of providing exceptional emergency care in a fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate will have robust clinical confidence, strong de-escalation skills, and the ability to manage critical drips and diverse patient acuities. No Service Lines & Patient Types Required Experience:

General Emergency and Trauma nursing care, including the management and titration of critical drips.

Patient Population:

All age demographics, including adult, geriatric, and pediatric emergency presentations. Responsibilities Assess, triage, and stabilize incoming emergency patients efficiently. Administer and manage high-alert medications and critical intravenous drips. Coordinate care rapidly with emergency physicians, advanced practice providers, and respiratory therapists. Maintain strict safety protocols, utilizing approved de-escalation techniques (MOAB/CPI) when managing agitated or volatile patients. Document accurate, real-time clinical data using the Epic EMR system.

Required Qualifications Experience:

Minimum 24 months of current/recent ER experience.

Traveler Status:

Recent travel experience is highly preferred.

Licensure:

Active Iowa RN License or Compact/Multistate License required at the time of submission.

EMR:

Epic experience is highly preferred.

Radius Rule:

Minimum of 50 miles from the facility. Local candidates are not accepted. Certifications BLS (American Heart Association or American Red Cross) [Required] ACLS (American Heart Association or American Red Cross) [Required] PALS (American Heart Association or American Red Cross) [Required] TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Competency) [Required]

Schedule & Floating Requirements Shift Details:

4x12s, 7:00 PM•7:00 AM.

Weekend Requirements:

Every 3rd weekend rotation required.

Contractors are required to work 1-2 of the 3 upcoming summer holidays (Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day) unless the unit is closed.
