Registered Nurse ( RN ) - Women's Intake Center Are you a skilled and dedicated Registered Nurse ( RN ) searching for a unique and rewarding career? The Iowa Department of Corrections invites you to bring your expertise and compassion to our team. We value your experience and offer competitive pay, where you will also be eligible for a $3,000 sign-on bonus. Current state employees are not eligible for recruitment payments upon transfer, demotion, or promotion to another agency. Work/life balance is very important to us. We offer 10-hour shift scheduling with 2-3 days off in a row without working more than 3-4 days. The shifts we currently have available are 1pm-11pm and 9pm-7am with days off as assigned including every other weekend . Key Responsibilities:
- Perform patient and staff health appraisals and conduct health clinics.
- Perform physical examinations, document patient visits and assist in patient record management.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary health teams to address patient needs, including mental health interventions and medication administration.
- Respond to medical emergencies and provide hands-on care and support.
- Maintain and prepare medical supplies, assist with lab services (i.e.: UA's, EKGs), and support telemedicine and x-ray services.
- Ensure proper medication administration, accountability and documentation following institutional policies.
