Job Description

Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Registered Nurse (RN) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join our dynamic healthcare team. This role offers an exciting opportunity to provide high-quality patient care across diverse settings, including acute care, long-term care, outpatient clinics, and community health environments. Responsibilities Conduct comprehensive patient assessments, including vital signs, physical examinations, and medical history reviews to determine individual needs. Administer medications and injections safely, following proper aseptic techniques and HIPAA regulations to ensure patient confidentiality. Perform specialized procedures such as IV infusions, catheterizations, suturing, tube feeding, and wound care with precision and attention to detail. Manage emergency situations by providing airway management, acute pain management, triage assessments, and utilizing critical care skills in ICU or trauma center environments. Document all patient interactions accurately using EMR (Electronic Medical Record) systems like Epic or Cerner; ensure compliance with medical documentation standards. Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals in discharge planning, case management, and coordinating long-term or hospice care services. Support infection control protocols and laboratory specimen collection/processing to maintain a safe environment for patients and staff. Skills Proven experience working in diverse clinical settings such as hospital medicine, emergency room, ICU, PACU (Post-Anesthesia Care Unit), or outpatient clinics. Strong knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, ICD coding (ICD-9/10), CPT coding, and diagnostic evaluation techniques. Proficiency in EMR/EHR systems including Athenahealth or eClinicalWorks; familiarity with medical imaging and laboratory systems is a plus. Skilled in performing invasive procedures such as venipuncture, phlebotomy, catheter care, ostomy care, and sterile processing techniques. Excellent patient assessment capabilities with the ability to handle complex cases involving trauma medicine, infectious disease care, geriatrics including memory care or dementia care, behavioral health issues, and pediatric or neonatal populations. Ability to work effectively in high-pressure environments such as Level I Trauma Centers or Level II trauma centers; experience in critical care transport or emergency medicine is highly valued. Knowledge of Workers' Compensation law and hospice & palliative medicine practices; experience with medical documentation standards like MDS for long-term care facilities is beneficial.
