Job Summary:
We are seeking experienced Med Surg/Telemetry Registered Nurses for a high-acuity, fast-paced hospital in Des Moines, IA. This is a great opportunity to gain experience in a large, 650+ bed acute care facility while working in a hybrid Med Surg/Telemetry unit caring for a diverse patient population.
Unit Details:
650+ bed acute care hospital Hybrid Med Surg/Telemetry unit
Patient Ratio:
1:5-7
Patient Population:
Cardiac, post-operative, neuro, and general medical patients Floating is required across similar units
Responsibilities:
Provide direct patient care in a Med Surg/Telemetry setting Monitor cardiac rhythms and respond to acute changes Administer medications and treatments per physician orders Perform comprehensive patient assessments and documentation Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to coordinate patient care Adapt quickly in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment
Requirements:
Minimum 2 years of recent hospital experience Previous travel experience required Active Iowa RN license or compact license BLS and ACLS certifications through American Heart Association (AHA) Must live 50+ miles from facility (travelers only - no local rate offered)
Additional Details:
7 days of RTO allowed RTO requests accepted at time of submission Navy scrubs required Very fast feedback: 36-48 hours max Great resume builder with exposure to a large, high-volume facility
