Job Description

Surgery Center-Registered Nurse
  • PRN) The Registered Nurse in the Surgery Center is responsible and accountable for the delivery of individualized nursing care to patients having surgical intervention.
The dimensions of practice range from pre-admission and preoperative assessment to intra-operative intervention on to postoperative evaluation. Incorporating current clinical knowledge with established nursing practice, he/she performs nursing intervention utilizing the nursing process. It is a practice designed to meet an individual's needs, from pediatric to the geriatric populations, through the nursing process, ensuring continuity of care during the surgical experience. This Registered Nurse participates in performance improvement activities. When in the Operating Room this position will also assist with the maintenance of surgical equipment and inventory, assess the Operating Room for equipment functioning and room turnover and readiness, obtain supplies for individual cases and ensure all appropriate needs of surgical operating team are met.
Classification:
PRN 1 shifts/week 6:00am-5:00pm Monday-Friday variable days No weekends or holidays Benefit eligible
Required Skills:
1. Currently Registered Nurse licensure from the State of Idaho. 2. Extensive pharmacologic knowledge of anesthetic medications and narcotics desired. 3. Knowledge of airway management and intervention helpful. 4. Excellent communication and customer service skills a must. 5. Positive attitude.
Minimum Work Experience:
1. A minimum of six months of recent perioperative experience, preferred.
