Job Overview:
We're seeking an on-site School Certified RN for a small PreK-8 campus serving fewer than 300 students in a close-knit, community-driven district. This is a light-duty school health role focused on direct student care, including vision and hearing screenings, medication administration, assisting with dental vans and student physicals, and maintaining basic health documentation. The RN will also escalate student health concerns to the Special education team and case management as needed.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide direct care to students, addressing injuries, illnesses, and chronic health conditions. Administer medications following established protocols. Maintain medical records and ensure compliance with health regulations, including HIPAA. Manage crisis interventions and ensure students' health needs are met in an emergency. Educate students, staff, and parents on health and wellness topics. Support the school in promoting a healthy, safe environment for students.
Qualifications:
Valid RN license in IL - through ISBE Current CPR certification. Valid Driver's License and ability to travel to the school campus. Experience working in school settings, pediatrics, or home health preferred.
