Ball-Chatham School District is seeking a motivated and passionate individual to join our team as a Registered Nurse (RN) at Glenwood High School. If you are dedicated to promoting a safe, healthy, and supportive environment for students and staff, this is an excellent opportunity to make a meaningful impact within a rewarding school community. This position is based at Glenwood High School and will also serve as a district-wide floating nurse, providing coverage across all District buildings during nurse absences and assisting with required hearing and vision screenings throughout the school year.
Starting Rate:
$32.00-45.27 per hour commensurate with experience

WHAT DO SCHOOL NURSES DO?
Serve as a health education resource person to students, staff, and families Provide first aid care and administer necessary immunizations Maintains an accurate health record for each student including immunizations, physical exam information and data regarding medical problems Accurately order, maintain, and inventory medical supplies and maintain supply budget wisely and efficiently Provide nursing coverage at other District buildings as needed during staff absences and support District-wide hearing and vision screening processes
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Licensed as a Registered Nurse (RN) in the state of IL Ability to travel between District buildings and work flexibly to support operational health service needs throughout the District Ability to pass a fingerprint criminal and DCFS background check. Considerable knowledge of medical disorders and treatments, especially as it relates to children and adolescents Considerable knowledge of child growth and development Working knowledge of public health problems and procedures for treatment in coordination with other health and social service agencies Working knowledge of federal, state, and local laws and regulations affecting the delivery of school health services
