Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Psychiatric Nurse to join our healthcare team. The successful candidate will provide specialised mental health care to patients, supporting their recovery and well-being within a multidisciplinary environment. This role offers an opportunity to make a meaningful difference in patients' lives through expert nursing practices and empathetic patient engagement. Responsibilities Deliver comprehensive nursing care to patients experiencing mental health issues, ensuring their safety and comfort at all times. Monitor and record patients' mental and physical health status, including behaviour, mood, and vital signs. Administer prescribed medications accurately and observe for adverse reactions or side effects. Collaborate with psychiatrists, psychologists, and other healthcare professionals to develop personalised treatment plans. Educate patients and their families about mental health conditions, treatment options, and coping strategies. Assist in crisis intervention when necessary, ensuring a calm and safe environment for all individuals involved. Maintain detailed documentation of patient progress, treatment responses, and interventions in accordance with legal and organisational standards. Uphold infection control procedures and adhere to health and safety regulations at all times. Requirements Valid registration as a Registered Nurse with specialisation or experience in psychiatric or mental health nursing. Proven experience in patient care within a mental health setting is highly desirable. Strong knowledge of human anatomy relevant to nursing practice and mental health conditions. Excellent communication skills with the ability to provide empathetic support to patients from diverse backgrounds. Organised with the ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team. Flexibility to work shifts as required, including potential overnight or weekend shifts if necessary. Commitment to maintaining professional standards of care, confidentiality, and ethical practice.
