Schedule & Hours 12-hour day shifts Every other weekend required Holidays as scheduled No on-call responsibility Start within 2 weeks 16 hours of orientation provided Role Overview Working in a cardiovascular intensive care setting, you'll collaborate with some of the region's leading clinicians. This is the perfect opportunity for seasoned CVICU RNs to sharpen advanced cardiovascular, critical care, and device management skills, floating as needed to additional intensive care units within the health system. Qualifications Current RN license in Illinois Minimum 3 years dedicated CVICU experience Active CPR, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications Must submit a passing EKG test (score of 80%+) Proficiency in Epic EMR Strong interpretation/management of dysrhythmias, multi-system organ failure, thermoregulation, CABG, IABP, Impella, post-cardiac surgery and pre/post cardiac cath/cardiac interventions Advanced IV therapy and device management skills; Impella, ECMO, LVAD, RVAD, CVVHD/CRRT experience preferred Charge nurse/leadership experience is a plus Submission materials: updated resume, recent CVICU skills checklist, supervisor reference within past year, EKG test, IL license verification Key Responsibilities Deliver expert care to complex cardiac patients, including management of mechanical support devices Participate in multidisciplinary rounds and individualized patient care planning Float to MICU and other ICUs within the system as needed Maintain exceptional documentation and regulatory compliance Support and mentor less experienced staff as needed Travel Perks & Benefits Tax-advantaged stipends to maximize your take-home Comprehensive travel assistance for smooth transitions Premium compensation Healthcare benefits and access to 401(k) plans Job stability through dedicated support Embark on a rewarding professional journey and enjoy everything Des Plaines and the Chicago area have to offer.
