Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) for a travel Surgery assignment in a fast-paced acute care surgical unit. The RN will be responsible for delivering safe, high-quality perioperative nursing care to surgical patients while collaborating with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and the multidisciplinary care team.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide direct patient care in the surgical unit, including preoperative and postoperative nursing care Monitor patient condition and respond promptly to changes in clinical status Assist surgical teams during procedures as needed within RN scope of practice Administer medications, IV therapy, and treatments as ordered Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the electronic medical record (EMR) Ensure adherence to infection control, safety protocols, and hospital policies Collaborate with physicians and care teams to coordinate patient care plans Participate in rotating on-call schedule including weekends and holidays Qualifications Active Registered Nurse (RN) license (Illinois or compact eligible) Prior experience in surgical or perioperative nursing Strong critical thinking and acute care skills Ability to work independently in a high-acuity environment Current BLS certification required; ACLS required Work Environment Acute care hospital surgical department Fast-paced, team-oriented clinical setting Requires flexibility for on-call coverage and varying patient volumes
Pay:
