NATURE OF WORK
Fairfield Memorial Hospital is seeking a compassionate, patient‑focused Clinic Registered Nurse to support our outpatient specialty clinic services. This PRN position will float between Urgent Care, Horizon Healthcare, and all Specialty Clinics based on daily operational needs. The Clinic RN serves as a key liaison between patients and providers, ensuring the delivery of safe, efficient, and high‑quality care in a fast‑paced ambulatory environment. This role is responsible for managing patient flow, performing clinical assessments, coordinating care, and assisting providers with examinations and procedures. The Clinic RN promotes a positive patient experience while maintaining an organized, compliant, and patient‑centered clinical environment. Nursing care is delivered in accordance with established nursing principles, ethical standards, and the policies and procedures of Fairfield Memorial Hospital.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Provide safe, effective nursing care in the outpatient specialty clinic setting. Obtain and document vital signs, medical histories, chief complaints, and relevant clinical information. Conduct initial nursing assessments and communicate findings to providers. Ensure efficient clinic operations and timely patient care. Assist physicians and advanced practice providers with exams, treatments, and in‑office procedures. Prepare patients for procedures and provide post‑procedure monitoring and instructions. Maintain accurate, timely, and complete patient records. Educate patients and families on diagnoses, treatment plans, medications, and follow‑up care. Collaborate with primary care providers, specialists, hospitals, and diagnostic facilities. Respond to patient inquiries, assess concerns, and provide appropriate nursing guidance. Administer medications and treatments as ordered. Ensure exam rooms, equipment, and supplies are prepared and maintained. Promote patient safety, infection prevention, and quality improvement initiatives. Participate in staff meetings, training, and continuing education. Perform other duties as assigned to support clinic operations.

$35.00 per hour

EDUCATION/QUALIFICATIONS
Required:
Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) from an accredited nursing program; Active Illinois RN license; AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
Preferred:
Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN); Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS).
EXPERIENCE
Required:
2-3 years of clinic nursing experience, ideally in primary care or a specialty clinic
Preferred:
3-5 years of clinical nursing experience in an outpatient or specialty setting SKILLS Strong clinical assessment and critical‑thinking skills Effective communication with patients, families, physicians, and staff Proficiency in medication administration and clinical procedures Competence in patient mobility support and safe handling Commitment to professionalism, teamwork, and patient‑centered care
