Job Description

Position:
Supervising Registered Nurse Reports to: Chief Medical Officer (CMO)

$40-$45 hourly (bilingual candidates will receive a pay differential)

Granite City, Illinois Benefits Full time benefits include: health, dental, vision, AD&D and life insurance premiums paid 100% by employer; paid time off, sick time, family leave, a yearly wellness stipend, 1 week of paid restoration at the end of each year and eligibility for 401K after 1 year of employment Job Summary The Supervising RN oversees the nursing team and collaborates with the CMO to ensure high quality, safe medical care is being administered. The nursing team helps ensure that all patients we serve have a compassionate and supportive experience with Hope Clinic. This position is critical to providing excellent patient care. Hope Clinic's mission is to advance the human right to autonomy through the provision of the highest quality medical and emotional abortion care. Duties and Responsibilities Supervise and direct nursing team providing essential duties and responsibilities of RN or LPN (see separate Job Descriptions). Serve on the clinic Leadership/Management and Quality Improvement Teams providing analytic and innovative thought to ensure clinic adherence to its mission and values, maintain sustainability, and lead the clinic forward through future changes and challenges. Oversee hiring, training, and scheduling of nursing staff. Maintain staffing, scheduling, and oversight of the on call team. Oversee nursing team to manage pre, intra, and post operative evaluation and care including routine and complicated situations. Oversee nursing team to perform clinically related administrative duties such as post-procedure follow up phone calls, medical clearance, and lab result follow up. Oversee controlled substance and medication safety programs, including training, ordering and record keeping. Collaborate with CMO to ensure clinical protocols are reviewed and updated regularly, and assist with creation of new protocols and processes. Collaborate with Clinical Resource Manager to oversee performance of clinical staff to assure quality patient care. Provide and track training when needed. Collaborate with Clinical Resource Manager to maintain adequate medical supplies. Prepare incident reports for employee occupational injuries or exposures and assist CMO to ensure appropriate follow up. Oversee clinic vaccination programs for staff including influenza and hepatitis B. Maintain accurate charting and documentation of all care rendered to the patient. Other assignments/tasks as indicated/in collaboration with the CMO, COO, or the Clinical Resource Manager. Operate and function within the scope of licensure as set forth by the Illinois State Board of Licensing. Function and perform duties with the constraints of state and federal regulation and ensure clinic compliance. Bilingual in Spanish and English preferred (bilingual candidates receive a pay differential) Current Registered Nursing license (an Illinois RN License will be required prior to starting work) Professional experience in abortion care and leadership strongly preferred Excellent communication and relationship building skills with an ability to prioritize, negotiate, and work with a variety of internal and external stakeholders. Multi-tasker with the ability to wear many hats in a fast-paced environment Ability to lead de-escalation when patients and/or staff are stressed or upset. Successful track record in setting priorities; keen analytic and problem-solving skills which support and enable sound decision making. Ability to provide trauma-informed, patient-centered care that recognizes the impact of structural inequities, stigma, and trauma on health. Commitment to health equity, reproductive justice, and patient autonomy, especially for communities disproportionately impacted by reproductive oppression and gender-based violence. Actively contribute to a clinic culture that is anti-racist, LGBTQ+ affirming, and healing-centered. Demonstrate integrity, credibility, and dedication to the mission of Hope. Pathogen Exposure Determination:
Based on the OSHA guidelines for protection against occupational exposure to hepatitis B virus (HBV) and human immunodeficiency virus (HlV), this position includes tasks that involve exposure to blood, body fluids, and tissues. Physical Requirements While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear in person, on the telephone, and via web conference. Visual acuity adequate to perform job duties, including reading information from printed sources and computer screens, is necessary. The employee frequently is required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms. This position requires the ability to frequently lift and move patients.
