L.O.S.T., Inc. - S.H.E. Sisterhood Homes "From Pain to Power Sisterhood Program" Lansing, Illinois L.O.S.T., Inc. is seeking a compassionate, trauma-informed, and highly organized Registered Nurse (RN) to support the health and wellness needs of adolescent girls residing in our therapeutic residential group home program. Our S.H.E. Sisterhood Homes provide healing-centered, family-style care for girls ages 14-18 who have experienced trauma, instability, behavioral health challenges, and involvement with child welfare systems. The Registered Nurse plays a critical role in ensuring residents receive quality medical care, medication management, health education, and coordination of healthcare services while supporting a safe, nurturing, and empowering environment. This position combines clinical nursing expertise with youth advocacy, wellness promotion, crisis response, and interdisciplinary collaboration. Position Summary The Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible for overseeing healthcare services for youth residing in the therapeutic group home program. The RN will coordinate medical care, monitor resident health needs, maintain compliance with Illinois DCFS Rule assist with medication administration oversight, and collaborate with treatment providers, case managers, therapists, psychiatrists, schools, hospitals, and families. The ideal candidate is compassionate, organized, trauma-informed, culturally sensitive, and experienced working with adolescents, behavioral health populations, or residential care settings. Essential ResponsibilitiesNursing & Medical Care Conduct comprehensive nursing assessments and ongoing health evaluations for residents Monitor resident health status, chronic conditions, and medical needs Administer medications and oversee medication management in accordance with physician orders and agency policies Monitor medication compliance, side effects, and documentation Coordinate medical appointments, follow-up care, immunizations, and specialist referrals Provide first aid and emergency medical response as needed Assist in developing individualized healthcare plans for each resident Behavioral & Mental Health Support Support youth with trauma-informed and healing-centered care approaches Collaborate with therapists, psychiatrists, and behavioral health providers regarding treatment planning Monitor residents for behavioral health concerns, self-harm risks, medication reactions, or mental health crises Assist staff with de-escalation support and health-related behavioral interventions Participate in multidisciplinary treatment meetings and case consultations Documentation & Compliance Maintain accurate and timely nursing documentation, medication administration records (MARs), incident reports, and health records Ensure compliance with Illinois DCFS Rule and healthcare regulations Maintain confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA and agency policies Utilize electronic health record/documentation systems as assigned Monitor infection control, medication storage, and healthcare compliance procedures Resident Wellness & Education Educate residents on: Personal hygiene Medication education Reproductive and women's health Nutrition and wellness Healthy coping strategies Stress management and self-care Support wellness-focused programming including: Spa/wellness days Health education workshops Physical activity initiatives Healthy lifestyle coaching Staff Support & Training Provide guidance and health-related training to Residential Counselors and direct care staff Assist with medication administration training and healthcare procedures Support emergency preparedness and health/safety protocols Participate in quality improvement and program development initiatives Qualifications Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of Illinois in good standing CPR/First Aid Certification required Valid driver's license preferred Ability to pass background checks and DCFS clearances Strong organizational, communication, and documentation skills Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary treatment environment Preferred Experience Experience in: Adolescent healthcare Behavioral health or psychiatric nursing Residential treatment or group home settings Trauma-informed care Child welfare or foster care systems Medication administration oversight Crisis intervention and behavioral health support Community health or case coordination Ideal Candidate We are seeking someone who is: Compassionate and youth-centered Trauma-informed and emotionally intelligent Calm under pressure Organized and detail-oriented Passionate about helping young women heal and succeed Skilled at balancing medical care with mentorship and advocacy Able to build trust with youth while maintaining professional boundaries Work Environment This position operates within a therapeutic residential group home environment serving adolescent girls in a small, family-style setting.
