Job Description
- The Stepping Stones Group
- is seeking a
- Registered Nurse (RN)
- for a contracted, school-based placement in
- Lisle, IL
- for the
- 26/27 school year
- ! This is a
- full-time
- position supporting a local K-12 district with private duty/1:1 nursing services. Working with The Stepping Stones Group means consistent pay, clinical backing from experienced nurses, and support from a team that understands school-based nursing - not just staffing.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
- Active RN license valid in Illinois
- Graduate of an accredited ADN or BSN program
- Current
BLS CPR/AED
certification- Demonstrated competency in the specific skills required for the assigned student including:
- 2 years+ of professional nursing experience (1 year with pediatrics or special needs)
- Suctioning and trach skills
- Seizure management - competent with seizure action plans and rescue medications
- Tube feedings
- Pediatric diabetic care
- Oxygen and airway management
- Medication administration
- Strong assessment and critical thinking skills
- Ability to work independently in a non-clinical environment
- Experience working with Pediatric population
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS
- Ability to respond effectively in emergency situations
- Ability to work collaboratively with school staff, families, therapists, and healthcare providers
- Ability to maintain accurate and timely documentation
- Prior school-based experience highly preferred
WHAT YOU'LL DO
- Maintain continuous observation of assigned student throughout the school day
- Implement and monitor student health plans
- Accompany student during transportation and community-based activities when assigned
- Communicate significant status changes to family, school staff, and clinical leadership
- Provide first aid, daily medical care, and emergency support
- Maintain student confidentiality in accordance with FERPA and HIPAA requirements
