Job Description

  • Registered Nurse (RN)
  • for a contracted, school-based placement in
  • Lisle, IL
  • for the
  • 26/27 school year
  • ! This is a
  • full-time
  • position supporting a local K-12 district with private duty/1:1 nursing services. Working with The Stepping Stones Group means consistent pay, clinical backing from experienced nurses, and support from a team that understands school-based nursing - not just staffing.
  • MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
  • Active RN license valid in Illinois
  • Graduate of an accredited ADN or BSN program
  • Current
BLS CPR/AED
certification
  • Demonstrated competency in the specific skills required for the assigned student including:
  • 2 years+ of professional nursing experience (1 year with pediatrics or special needs)
  • Suctioning and trach skills
  • Seizure management - competent with seizure action plans and rescue medications
  • Tube feedings
  • Pediatric diabetic care
  • Oxygen and airway management
  • Medication administration
  • Strong assessment and critical thinking skills
  • Ability to work independently in a non-clinical environment
  • Experience working with Pediatric population
  • ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS
  • Ability to respond effectively in emergency situations
  • Ability to work collaboratively with school staff, families, therapists, and healthcare providers
  • Ability to maintain accurate and timely documentation
  • Prior school-based experience highly preferred
  • WHAT YOU'LL DO
  • Maintain continuous observation of assigned student throughout the school day
  • Implement and monitor student health plans
  • Accompany student during transportation and community-based activities when assigned
  • Communicate significant status changes to family, school staff, and clinical leadership
  • Provide first aid, daily medical care, and emergency support
  • Maintain student confidentiality in accordance with FERPA and HIPAA requirements
