This contract opportunity is ideal for a Registered Nurse passionate about working in schools, collaborating with educators, and providing vital health services throughout the academic year.
Key Qualifications:
Active RN license in the state of Illinois. Previous experience as a school nurse or relevant pediatric/clinical nursing preferred. Current CPR/BLS certification. Strong communication skills and the ability to work well with students, staff, and families. Commitment to maintaining patient confidentiality and adhering to health regulations. Ability to respond quickly and effectively to medical situations and emergencies.
Key Responsibilities:
Deliver day-to-day care for students with acute injuries, chronic illnesses, and other health needs. Administer prescribed medications and treatments according to health plans and physician orders. Conduct health screenings and maintain accurate health records. Monitor immunization compliance and communicate requirements to families as needed. Collaborate with educators, counselors, and administrators regarding student care and support plans. Provide health education to students and staff, promoting healthy habits in the school community. Respond to emergencies and serve as a resource for health and safety protocols.
