In this energetic role, you will be responsible for continuously monitoring patients' cardiac rhythms, interpreting telemetry data, and providing exceptional nursing care to individuals with various cardiac conditions. Your proactive approach will ensure prompt response to arrhythmias or other cardiac events, contributing to improved patient outcomes. Responsibilities Monitor and interpret cardiac telemetry data for patients with acute or chronic cardiac conditions, ensuring timely identification of arrhythmias or abnormalities. Perform comprehensive patient assessments, including vital signs, physical examinations, and review of medical history related to cardiology. Administer medications and treatments such as botulinum toxin when indicated for specific conditions, following strict protocols and safety standards. Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement individualized care plans aligned with best practices in cardiology and critical care. Document all patient interactions, assessments, interventions, and responses accurately within electronic health record (EHR) systems like Epic or Cerner. Provide patient education on cardiac health management, medication adherence, lifestyle modifications, and post-discharge care instructions. Respond swiftly to emergency situations such as acute pain episodes or arrhythmias using advanced airway management and aseptic techniques. Requirements Valid RN license in the state of employment with current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification; ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) preferred. Proven experience working in cardiac telemetry units or critical care environments such as ICU or emergency medicine. Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems including Epic, Cerner, or similar platforms; experience with ICD coding and documentation standards is a plus. Strong knowledge of physiology, anatomy, diagnostic evaluation techniques (such as ECG interpretation), and medication administration protocols related to cardiology. Ability to perform venipuncture, IV insertion, suturing, and sterile procedures confidently. Experience working with diverse patient populations including long-term care residents, hospice patients, or individuals with developmental disabilities is advantageous.
