- Full-time Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and highly skilled Hematology Oncologist to join our dynamic healthcare team.
In this vital role, you will provide expert diagnosis, treatment, and management of patients with blood disorders and cancers, including leukemia, lymphoma, multiple myeloma, and other hematologic malignancies. Your expertise will help improve patient outcomes through comprehensive care, innovative treatment plans, and collaborative clinical research efforts. Responsibilities Conduct thorough patient evaluations, including medical history review and physical examinations focused on hematology and oncology conditions. Develop personalized treatment plans utilizing chemotherapy, immunotherapy, targeted therapy, radiation therapy, and other advanced modalities such as radiation therapy. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including radiologists, pathologists, surgeons, and primary care providers to coordinate comprehensive patient care. Utilize electronic health record (EHR) systems like Epic and EMR systems to document patient interactions accurately and efficiently. Order and interpret diagnostic tests such as medical imaging (CT scans), laboratory studies, and bone marrow biopsies to inform treatment strategies. Participate in clinical research trials to advance hematology-oncology treatments and contribute to ongoing medical knowledge. Educate patients and their families about diagnosis, treatment options, potential side effects, and supportive care measures including pain management and palliative medicine. Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations and maintain the highest standards of patient service throughout all interactions. Experience Proven experience in hematology-oncology practice with a strong background in managing complex blood disorders and cancers. Familiarity with advanced medical imaging techniques such as CT scans and nuclear medicine procedures relevant to oncology diagnostics. Experience working within hospital settings or Level I trauma centers is preferred. Knowledge of interventional radiology procedures like vascular interventional radiography and catheterization techniques is advantageous. Demonstrated ability to utilize EMR systems such as Epic effectively for documentation and patient management. Prior involvement in clinical research or trials related to hematology or oncology is highly desirable. Strong understanding of medical terminology, CPT coding for billing purposes, and the principles of patient assessment across inpatient and outpatient environments.
