As an Infection Prevention RN, you will provide oversight of the Infection Prevention Control Program and collaborate with facility leadership and medical director to develop, implement, and evaluate annual infection prevention goals and action plan. The Infection Prevention RN establishes the facility-wide system for the prevention, identification, investigation and control of infection of residents, staff, and visitors, including surveillance designed to identify possible communicable diseases or infections before they spread, conducts any/all outbreak investigations, and maintains the system for reporting possible incidents of communicable diseases to local, state, or national agencies as required. The IP Nurse also oversees the antibiotic stewardship program and monitor residents' antibiotic use and assesses the need for, develop, and present IPCP in-service education for individual departments, general orientation, and annual review as needed. In this role, the Infection Prevention RN is required to maintain current knowledge of federal, state, and local regulations and ensure that the facility leaders are informed of appropriate issues. To be eligible for consideration applicants should have: As a minimum, a bachelor's degree in Science, Nursing or related field, an unencumbered State of Illinois Registered Nurse (R.N.) license and C.P.R. Certification. Five (5) years of experience as a R.N. and one (1) year of experience in an infection control position is preferable.
