Job Description

Overview We are seeking a dedicated and highly skilled Registered Nurse specializing in Interventional Radiology and Vascular procedures to join our dynamic healthcare team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong foundation in advanced nursing practices, with expertise in vascular access, imaging-guided interventions, and patient-centered care. The successful applicant will demonstrate exceptional clinical skills, critical thinking, and a passion for improving patient outcomes through precise and compassionate nursing practices. Duties Provide comprehensive nursing care to patients undergoing interventional radiology and vascular procedures, ensuring adherence to aseptic techniques and safety protocols. Assist physicians during complex procedures such as catheterizations, angiograms, and other image-guided interventions utilizing EMR systems for documentation. Monitor patient vital signs, assess physiological responses, and manage acute pain or complications during and post-procedure. Educate patients on pre- and post-procedure care, including medication administration, wound care, and lifestyle modifications related to vascular health. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop individualized care plans when applicable. Maintain detailed medical records in compliance with HIPAA regulations, ensuring accurate ICD-10 coding and documentation of procedures performed. Participate in quality improvement initiatives aligned with NCQA standards and infection control protocols to enhance patient safety and care quality. Support the integration of advanced technologies such as CT imaging, ultrasound guidance, and sterile processing techniques within the interventional suite. Qualifications Valid RN license with current registration; additional certification in radiology nursing or vascular access preferred. Proven experience in OBL / hospital interventional radiology, vascular procedures, or cardiac catheterization units. Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems including Epic, Cerner, or Athenahealth for accurate medical documentation. Demonstrated proficiency in aseptic technique, IV infusion management, venipuncture, suturing, and catheter care. Critical care experience in ICU or emergency medicine environments highly desirable; experience working within Level I or Level II trauma centers is advantageous. Knowledge of ICD coding (ICD-9/ICD-10), CPT coding for procedures, and laboratory specimen collection/processing. Strong understanding of physiology principles related to vascular health, anatomy knowledge relevant to interventional procedures, and patient assessment skills. Excellent communication skills with the ability to educate patients effectively about complex medical treatments.
