The ideal candidate will possess a comprehensive understanding of medical-surgical nursing practices, with a strong commitment to delivering exceptional patient care across diverse clinical settings. This role offers an opportunity to work in a fast-paced environment where critical thinking, compassion, and technical expertise are essential. The successful applicant will be responsible for providing direct patient care, coordinating treatment plans, and ensuring compliance with healthcare standards and regulations. Duties Perform thorough patient assessments, including vital signs, physical examinations, and detailed medical histories to inform individualized care plans. Administer medications and treatments accurately, including IV infusions, injections, and wound suturing, adhering to aseptic techniques and safety protocols. Monitor patients' conditions continuously, recognizing signs of acute pain, infectious disease symptoms, or deterioration requiring immediate intervention. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to coordinate complex care procedures such as cardiac catheterization, dialysis, or respiratory support with ventilators. Document all patient interactions and interventions meticulously within electronic health record (EHR) systems like Epic or Cerner to ensure accurate medical records management. Provide education and support to patients and their families regarding treatment options, medication administration, and post-discharge care planning. Maintain compliance with HIPAA regulations while managing sensitive medical records and ensuring confidentiality of patient information. Assist in triage processes in urgent care or emergency room settings, prioritizing cases based on acuity levels aligned with Level I and Level II trauma center standards. Skills Proficiency in EMR/EHR systems such as Epic, Cerner, or Athenahealth for efficient documentation and patient management. Extensive experience with medical-surgical nursing procedures including IV insertion, catheterization, tube feeding management, and ostomy care. Strong knowledge of physiology, anatomy, pharmacology, and medical terminology relevant to acute care environments. Skilled in performing diagnostic evaluations such as laboratory specimen collection/processing and interpreting ICD coding (ICD-9/10). Ability to manage complex cases involving trauma medicine, ICU care, neonatal resuscitation procedures (NRP), or pediatric nursing including PICU experience. Familiarity with specialty areas such as geriatrics, memory care, behavioral health, hospice & palliative medicine, or long-term care settings like nursing homes or assisted living facilities. Excellent communication skills for effective patient assessment and health coaching across diverse populations including individuals with developmental disabilities or dementia. Knowledge of infection control practices and sterile processing techniques essential for maintaining a safe clinical environment.
