Job Description

Overview We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented MDS (Minimum Data Set) Coordinator to join our dedicated healthcare team. The ideal candidate will possess extensive knowledge of clinical documentation, coding systems, and regulatory standards to ensure accurate assessment and reimbursement processes. This role offers an opportunity to impact patient care quality while maintaining compliance with industry standards. Duties Conduct thorough assessments of residents using the MDS process, ensuring accuracy and completeness in documentation. Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams—including nursing, therapy, social work, and medical staff—to gather pertinent clinical information. Ensure compliance with federal and state regulations such as CMS guidelines, NCQA standards, and HIPAA requirements. Utilize electronic health record (EHR) systems like Epic, Cerner, Athenahealth, or eClinicalWorks to document assessments and updates efficiently. Review medical records and documentation for accuracy, consistency, and completeness; perform case management and utilization review as needed. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of Medicare regulations, managed care policies, and healthcare coding standards to optimize reimbursement. Provide education and training to staff on documentation improvement initiatives, including clinical documentation improvement programs. Conduct care plan meetings.
Pay:
$77,000.00 - $84,000.00 per year
